The Province of Ontario has announced recent changes in regulations and guidance under the Re-opening Ontario protocols. As a church, Broken Bread Toronto now needs to move forward, as legal restrictions ease, back to in-person gatherings to serve the community. We are called by Christ to care for one another, and that includes being responsible to one another and for one another. This Safety Plan is designed to allow the church to carry out our mission, while doing so safely and responsibly. 

 
 
 
 

 1.    Protocol and procedure revision and dissemination

a.    The management team of Broken Bread Toronto will stay current on all information, advisories, and mandates from Toronto Public Health and re-evaluate and adjust this protocol as required, regarding COVID-19 including:

i.    Capacity limits

ii.     Distancing measures

iii.    Symptoms

iv.     Best practices

b.    Information will be shared with all stakeholders via email communications as and when necessary. In addition, information will be posted on the website, and available in hard copy, on site.

c.     This protocol will be re-evaluated monthly by the Management Committee  

 

2.    Screening protocols

a.    A self-evaluation checklist will be sent out weekly, asking that people refrain from in-person attendance if they display any of the symptoms listed. This checklist will be displayed and clearly visible upon entry.  

b.    No proof of vaccination will be requested or required to attend in-person

c.     A greeter will intercept each and every person entering to confirm they have performed the self-evaluation checklist and are cleared to enter

 

3.    Controlling the risk of transmission

a.    On-line service will be offered. Outdoor services will be offered on certain weeks in the summer

b.    Management Committee will ensure the custodians of Earl Haig are performing enhanced cleaning

c.     There will be no children’s service offered   

d.    No communion will be administered

e.    There shall be no resource table

f.    Hand sanitizing stations will be made available at various locations throughout, and at the entrance. Access to hand washing facilities will be available      

 

4.    Protocol for suspected COVID exposure  

a.    Broken Bread Toronto shall send out a notification to all members to advise of any suspected exposure to COVID and provide further information and direction, as may be provided by Toronto Public Health

b.    Broken Bread Toronto shall return to an exclusively virtual based service if recommended by Toronto Public Health in the event of an exposure, or otherwise required by the Government of Ontario
